Morgan Pillard, CO – Certified Orthoptist

Morgan Pillard is a Certified Orthoptist who has trained at one of the nation’s most respected eye care institutions. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, where she developed a strong foundation in the biological sciences.

Following her undergraduate education, Morgan completed her Orthoptic Training Program at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center in Ann Arbor, one of the premier ophthalmology centers in the country. During her training, she gained comprehensive experience in the evaluation and management of complex eye conditions, with particular expertise in pediatric eye care.

Morgan is a member of the American Association of Certified Orthoptists (AACO), the professional organization for orthoptists in the United States. She has demonstrated a commitment to patient education and public awareness, serving as a volunteer with the AACO’s Patient Education & Public Relations initiative, where she created educational materials for amblyopia (lazy eye) patients and their families, including patient education cards, coloring pages, and patching calendars.

Her clinical experience includes managing patients with complex strabismus (eye misalignment) and treating amblyopia in children. Most recently, Morgan worked as a Certified Orthoptist at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, where she provided specialized care for pediatric patients with strabismus, eye movement disorders, and visual development challenges, including consultations for inpatient and emergency department cases.

Beyond her clinical work, Morgan is actively involved in the eye care community. She has participated in international service, including an eye care mission trip to Dominica, and volunteers with Lions Club and Be My Eyes, demonstrating her dedication to expanding access to quality eye care. Morgan is passionate about providing compassionate, comprehensive care to pediatric patients and their families at Fraser Eye Care.
